Kamensk Metallurgical Plant of Russia Launches 1 mm Embossed Aluminum Sheet

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, the Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical Plant (KUMZ) in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, expanded its aluminum alloy sheet product range and began producing 1.0 mm thick embossed aluminum sheet, covering four aluminum alloys: АМг2, АМг3, АМц and 5005А. Previously, the plant's comparable products had a thickness of 1.2–5.0 mm. This reduction lowers the minimum thickness of embossed aluminum sheet to 1.0 mm, with the new products mainly targeting the transportation equipment, industrial facilities and architectural decoration sectors.

The new specification retains the anti-slip surface and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy embossed sheet. The plant positions its application scope to include floors of freight cars, buses, railway passenger cars and boats, as well as wall surfaces of industrial workshops, work areas and building interior decoration. The 1.0 mm specification mainly addresses the demand for lightweight sheet, and the company states that it can reduce the amount of metal used in related structures and lower the burden of material transportation, cutting and installation.

This addition concerns the thickness specification of embossed aluminum sheet products, and the existing production information confirms the four applicable aluminum alloys and the product application scope. The plant plans to showcase the related aluminum products at the Russian International Metallurgical Industry Exhibition to be held from November 10 to 13, 2026.
