Canada's Tartisan Nickel Obtains 3-Year Exploration Permit for Sill Lake Silver Project

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines has issued an early-stage exploration permit, numbered PR-26-000145, valid for 3 years, to Canadian Arrow Mines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tartisan Nickel, for the Sill Lake silver project. The project is located approximately 30 kilometers north-northeast of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and the exploration work will focus on investigating a potential silver-bearing vein extension zone approximately 2 kilometers long.

The Sill Lake project, formerly known as the Prace Mine, is a site where silver-lead mining was previously conducted. The existing mineral tenure covers approximately 970 hectares and comprises 57 contiguous mining claim blocks. A previously conducted airborne magnetic survey identified a inferred structural extension zone approximately 2 kilometers long located outside the existing silver vein system. Tartisan Nickel plans to use this structural zone as the primary exploration target to further investigate the extension of the silver-bearing veins.

During a recent site visit, the Tartisan Nickel management team collected geological samples from the silver vein extension area and sent them to AGAT Laboratories in Thunder Bay, Ontario, for analysis. Follow-up work will refine the exploration program based on the sample assay results and conduct further testing of the inferred vein extension zone. Indigenous representatives participated in the site visit and discussed the project exploration plan with the project team.

The project area has a historical technical report that complies with Canada's NI 43-101 disclosure standards. The 2021 resource estimate showed measured and indicated mineral resources for the main vein totaling 103,644 tonnes at an average silver grade of 4.42 troy ounces per tonne, containing approximately 458,333 troy ounces of silver, along with approximately 1.468 million pounds of lead and 505,000 pounds of zinc. The above resource figures correspond to the main vein that has been evaluated and fall within a different exploration scope from the 2-kilometer structural extension zone to be investigated in this program.
