en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian mining company Minaurum Silver has discovered a new high-grade blind vein, the Africa vein, at its Alamos silver project in Sonora, Mexico. Drill hole AL26-268 returned 669 grams per tonne silver equivalent over 2.05 metres, while hole AL26-257 returned 592 g/t silver equivalent over 1.30 metres. The discovery is part of the project's Phase II 50,000-metre resource expansion drilling program.

The Africa vein is located approximately 50 metres in the footwall west of the Europa Sur vein and has no obvious surface exposure. After hole AL26-257 passed through the Europa Sur mineralized zone, geologists identified significant alteration in the footwall rocks and continued drilling deeper, identifying a new mineralized structure. Subsequent holes AL26-268 and AL26-270 also intersected the vein, further confirming the mineralization.

In the assay results for the new vein, the mineralized interval in hole AL26-268 returned an actual silver grade of 270 g/t, along with 0.87 g/t gold, 1.55% copper, 2.80% lead and 5.62% zinc. The mineralized interval in hole AL26-257 returned an actual silver grade of 498 g/t, along with 0.05 g/t gold, 0.35% copper, 0.78% lead and 1.85% zinc. Both high-grade mineralized zones contain polymetallic components including silver, gold, copper, lead and zinc.

The Africa vein still has exploration potential for continued extension along strike. Hole AL19-018, drilled in 2019, returned 5.35 metres grading 156 g/t silver equivalent in the footwall of the Europa Sur vein, approximately 400 metres north of the AL26-257 mineralized intersection. This historical hole and the new discovery are located in a similar geological setting, but the continuity of mineralization between the two holes still requires further drilling to confirm.

The current resource expansion drilling also returned assay results for other veins. Hole AL26-266 on the Europa Sur vein returned a mineralized interval of 2.65 metres grading 367 g/t silver equivalent, including 1.35 metres at 596 g/t; hole AL26-261 returned 0.60 metres at a high grade of 1,140 g/t silver equivalent. Hole AL26-259 on the Quintera vein returned a mineralized interval of 3.20 metres grading 253 g/t silver equivalent, including 1.50 metres at 462 g/t.

The current resource expansion work at the Alamos project also covers veins including San José and Promontorio Sur. Hole AL26-267 on the San José vein returned a mineralized interval of 0.30 metres grading 782 g/t silver equivalent; hole AL26-263 on the Promontorio Sur vein returned 3.95 metres grading 160 g/t silver equivalent. Minaurum plans to incorporate the relevant drilling results into a future mineral resource update to further evaluate the resource potential of the periphery of existing veins and blind mineralized zones.
