Copper Giant Reports 135-Meter High-Grade Mineralization at Colombian Copper-Molybdenum Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, Canadian mining company Copper Giant Resources announced the latest drilling results from the Mocoa copper-molybdenum deposit in Putumayo Department, Colombia. Drill hole MD-074 intersected a 135-meter copper-molybdenum mineralized interval from a depth of 474 meters, grading 1.60% copper equivalent, including 1.02% copper and 0.107% molybdenum; within this, a 52-meter interval graded 2.24% copper equivalent. This is the highest-grade drilling result among intervals exceeding 100 meters obtained by the company at the Mocoa project to date.

Drill hole MD-074 intersected a continuous 724-meter mineralized interval starting from a depth of 179 meters, averaging 0.78% copper equivalent, including a 355-meter interval from 305 to 660 meters grading 1.04% copper equivalent. The hole reached a final depth of 903 meters, ending within mineralized rock. The 135-meter high-grade interval is located within the project's conceptual open-pit shell and grades approximately three times the average grade of 0.54% copper equivalent for indicated resources in the updated resource estimate announced in October.
Directional daughter hole MD-076, drilled from the same drill platform, extended 184 meters west of historical hole M14 and intersected a 67-meter mineralized interval from a depth of 636 meters, grading 0.66% copper equivalent, including 0.51% copper and 0.028% molybdenum. The hole intersected a cumulative 637-meter mineralized interval starting from a depth of 145 meters, averaging 0.37% copper equivalent. MD-074 and MD-076 were drilled using a combination of a parent hole and directional daughter holes; together with previous holes, five holes have been completed from the same platform, eliminating the need for new drill platforms and access roads.
Drill hole MD-075 in the northern part of the deposit intersected a 699-meter mineralized interval averaging 0.38% copper equivalent, including a 108-meter interval grading 0.69% copper equivalent. The hole entered a potassic alteration zone at a depth of 826 meters and intersected a 123-meter mineralized interval at a depth of 900 meters, grading 0.33% copper equivalent and 0.031% molybdenum. The hole reached a total depth of 1,058 meters; the results document the continuous distribution of deep alteration and copper-molybdenum mineralization in the northern part of the deposit.
Copper Giant announced an updated resource estimate for the Mocoa project on October 14, comprising approximately 290 million tonnes of indicated resources at an average grade of 0.54% copper equivalent and approximately 1.6 billion tonnes of inferred resources at an average grade of 0.40% copper equivalent. The assay results from these three holes were received after the cut-off date for drill hole data used in the updated resource estimate and therefore represent subsequent additional exploration results. The company plans to file a technical report prepared in accordance with Canadian NI 43-101 standards and documents related to the project's preliminary economic assessment by the end of November 2026.
