STEF Portugal invests 900,000 euros in new platform in Viseu
en.Wedoany.com Reported - STEF Portugal has inaugurated a new regional logistics platform in Viseu, with an investment of approximately 900,000 euros, aimed at strengthening its operations in central Portugal.

The new facility covers an area of 700 square meters, features three dock doors, and is equipped with a 414-square-meter fresh goods dock and a freezer room. The operator, specializing in temperature-controlled food transport and logistics, stated in a press release that the platform's geographic location brings it closer to key local agricultural producers, helping to improve the efficiency of daily goods collection and optimize distribution operations. Mickael Tomás, General Manager of STEF Portugal, said: "Opening the new platform in Viseu allows us to expand our transport network and strengthen ties with the agricultural sector, which has a strong presence in this region. With this investment, we will optimize distribution across the geographic area serving multiple channels, from retail to the Horeca channel." He added that inland regions have very unique characteristics, traditionally leaning more toward shipping than consumption, "however, during summer and holiday periods, the return of emigrants leads to increased demand, and this new platform ensures we have greater response capacity." With this addition, the company now operates 14 logistics platforms in Portugal, employing approximately 600 people.
