en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 9, at today's JD Global Technology Exploration Conference, JD Logistics announced plans to purchase 3 million robots, 1 million autonomous vehicles, and 100,000 drones within 5 years, further advancing the implementation of full-process unmanned logistics.

In addition, JD Logistics will also build the world's largest robot maintenance service network. Over the next 5 years, the after-sales service capability for robots is planned to cover more than 100 countries worldwide, creating over 100,000 job positions for robot after-sales service engineers.

JD Retail announced that it will invest 10 billion yuan in resources before 2028 to help 100 brands achieve independent sales exceeding 1 billion yuan each, promote the robot industry into one million end-use scenarios, and cover ten million users, becoming the world's largest robot retail channel.

At the 2026 APEC China CEO Forum held in June this year, Liu Qiangdong, founder and chairman of the board of JD Group, revealed that JD has proposed the "Nirvana Plan" internally, hoping to send its existing 700,000 blue-collar workers, including delivery couriers, to schools for technical training to cope with the impact brought by AI and technological development.

In the future, robots will handle all deliveries, and there will be no need for couriers at all—deliveries will definitely be made by robots. However, I don't want our 700,000 brothers to go hungry or lose their jobs.

Liu Qiangdong stated that JD has therefore signed agreements with 120 schools across the country to send these workers for training, so that in the future they can perform maintenance and servicing on robots.

Machines can break down, and when they do, people still need to repair them. In this way, we turn our blue-collar workers into white-collar workers, letting them work in offices without having to brave wind and rain, and without having to work so hard.

In an official post on August 20, JD Logistics stated that it had organized the first batch of frontline employees to undergo training for transitioning into robot maintenance engineer roles. Dozens of frontline employees, including couriers, warehouse keepers, and quality inspectors from across the country, participated in the training at the JD Service Zhuozhou Technical Certification Training Center. It is understood that the first batch of frontline employees who completed the training and job certification have officially started their new positions as robot maintenance engineers.
