DHL Group Plans to Invest More Than €400 Million by 2030 to Expand Logistics Network in Central and Eastern Europe
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 8, DHL Group of Germany announced a new round of investment plans for Central and Eastern Europe, intending to invest more than €400 million before 2030 to expand regional logistics infrastructure, transportation networks, and supply chain service facilities. The plan covers key markets including Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania, and involves contract logistics, warehousing and distribution, business-to-business freight, international express, and freight forwarding services.

This investment will be jointly advanced by multiple business divisions of DHL Group, including DHL Supply Chain, DHL Freight, DHL eCommerce, and DHL Global Forwarding. The group plans to expand contract logistics warehousing capacity, business-to-business transportation networks, and international freight service facilities, while deploying supply chain control tower systems and related digital technologies to support cross-border cargo transportation, warehousing operations, and supply chain management.
Poland is one of the key markets for this round of investment. DHL Express plans to build a new air express freight station in Katowice, Poland, and continue investing in the local warehousing and distribution network.
DHL has previously completed several major logistics infrastructure investments in Poland. In 2024, the group completed an international logistics center in Poznań with an investment of €180 million, serving DHL eCommerce, DHL Freight, and Deutsche Post parcel operations, and handling cargo distribution and transportation tasks between Poland and other European markets. In Romania, DHL Supply Chain has entered the local market by expanding its cooperation with Polish retailer Pepco. The group plans to continue developing warehousing, transportation, and supply chain control tower services in Central and Eastern Europe, covering manufacturing, retail, and international logistics customers in the region.
According to global tracking research data released by DHL during the same period, from 2016 to 2025, Poland's goods trade growth rate reached 2.1 times and 2.7 times the global and EU averages, respectively. The research predicts that from 2026 to 2029, Poland's goods trade growth rate will be 28% and 91% higher than the global and EU averages, respectively.
DHL has been operating in Poland for 35 years, with more than 10,000 employees, and Poland is also one of the group's top ten markets by global workforce size.
