en.Wedoany.com Reported - Uber Freight has announced the expansion of its European fourth-party logistics (4PL) business, with plans to build a new control tower and operations center in Krakow, Poland, in 2027. The center will become Uber Freight's second operational node in Europe, working alongside its existing Netherlands operations to serve European customers. The expansion also includes additional resources for product, engineering, customer operations, and service teams. The specific investment amount and number of new employees have not yet been disclosed.

The new center will handle centralized operations and transportation management for the European supply chain network, supported by Uber Freight's transportation management system. The company is also dedicating product and engineering resources to optimizing the TMS for European shippers, and expanding its customer-facing operations, customer service, and customer success teams. Its European 4PL business was previously operated primarily through the Netherlands team, with the related business originating from the managed transportation system formed after the acquisition of Transplace in 2021.

Chemical logistics has been identified as one of the first priority businesses for this European expansion. Uber Freight's current European transportation network covers cross-border road transport, rail intermodal, short-sea shipping, and deep-sea shipping, and includes dangerous goods transportation management capabilities. The company disclosed that chemical company OXEA has recently selected Uber Freight to manage transportation operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. This is also Uber Freight's first 4PL customer project covering both North America and Europe simultaneously from the project initiation stage.

Uber Freight's European 4PL business doubled the number of new contracts secured in 2025. Once the Krakow center becomes operational, it will form a dual-node layout with the existing Netherlands operations, providing centralized transportation management and control tower services for cross-regional customers. The company has currently listed European expansion as a multi-year investment plan, but has not yet disclosed the specific construction scale, investment amount, or staffing for the Krakow center.
