en.Wedoany.com Reported - Wang Ruomeng, Deputy Director General of the Department of Innovation and High-Tech Development of the National Development and Reform Commission, recently disclosed the work directions for China's artificial intelligence industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period at a press conference held by the Shanghai Municipal Government.
The work directions cover five key areas. First, accelerating independent innovation, strengthening research on key technologies such as models, computing power, and data, increasing investment in basic research, generating more original achievements, and contributing Chinese wisdom to the global development of artificial intelligence.
Second, strengthening application-driven development, focusing on areas with significant economic contributions, high strategic value, and strong social benefits, opening up a number of high-value scenarios, and creating a batch of benchmark applications.
Third, deepening ecological collaboration, continuously promoting deep software-hardware adaptation, the co-prosperity of open-source and closed-source models, the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, as well as regional differentiated development, to significantly enhance the efficiency of ecological collaboration.
Fourth, adhering to openness and win-win cooperation, extensively engaging in international cooperation on artificial intelligence, promoting technology openness and inclusiveness, supporting Global South countries in strengthening their AI capacity building, and actively participating in international governance in the field of artificial intelligence.
Fifth, ensuring safety and controllability, coordinating development and security, accelerating legislation in the field of artificial intelligence, improving the institutional and regulatory framework, preventing risks such as data abuse, deepfakes, and privacy breaches, and ensuring that the development of artificial intelligence serves and is controlled by humanity.
