Indonesia's AI Infrastructure RAIA Grid Launches, Spanning 86,000 Kilometers

en.Wedoany.com Reported - PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT), an Indonesian digital infrastructure company, has officially launched RAIA Grid, an AI-enhanced digital infrastructure platform. The company was established through a partnership between Indonesia's Arsari Group and telecommunications operator Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat).

Over the past decade, Indonesia's digital development has centered on connectivity infrastructure. With the rise of cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), large-scale data centers, and digital services, a new generation of digital infrastructure is needed to simultaneously connect people, data, enterprises, machines, and AI. RAIA Grid was designed to meet this demand, employing an open access architecture to provide intelligent and flexible connectivity solutions for the expansion of Indonesia's digital economy.

The RAIA Grid network spans a total of 86,000 kilometers and supports multiple connectivity scenarios, including 5G, Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), and data center-to-data center (DC-to-DC) connections. Its open access framework allows telecommunications operators, data centers, cloud service providers, hyperscale cloud providers, and enterprise users to share this infrastructure.

Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Founder and Chairman of Arsari Group, stated that RAIA Grid is part of the company's long-term commitment to strengthening Indonesia's digital capabilities through the development of infrastructure, knowledge, and talent, creating lasting value for local businesses, industries, and communities.

Hendri Mulya Syam, President of RAIA Grid, explained that the platform's strategic goal is to become a digital highway connecting Indonesia's digital ecosystem, enabling interconnection between data centers and ultimately linking Indonesia to the global network. He also noted that RAIA Grid incorporates machine learning, AI, and agentic AI into the planning, deployment, and management of infrastructure, supporting intelligent network planning, demand forecasting, fiber route optimization, automated deployment, and predictive maintenance to enhance network resilience and responsiveness.

Vikram Sinha, President and Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, stated that RAIA Grid's construction goal goes beyond connectivity—it aims to connect data centers, cloud platforms, enterprises, and AI infrastructure, laying the foundation for a complete AI technology stack. He mentioned that integrating RAIA Grid, Indosat, and Zankore can connect the critical layers required to enable AI deployment at scale in Indonesia.

Aryo Djojohadikusumo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Arsari Group, stated that the digital highway serves as the foundation for expanding various capabilities. The company aims to build capabilities relevant to Indonesia's next era of computing and AI, including supporting the future manufacturing of supercomputers in Indonesia to enhance the nation's technological independence.
