Google's AI Mode Adds Flight Tracking and Hotel Booking, Covering Over 180 Countries

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Google announced on Thursday that it has added travel planning and booking features to its conversational search experience, AI Mode. Users can now have AI Mode track flight prices, book hotels, and view flight and hotel costs calculated in points or miles.

This update signals that Google is attempting to position AI Mode as an AI travel agent, moving beyond simply helping users find information to actively participating in parts of the travel planning and booking process. After users describe when and where they want to fly, the tool filters the best options from the latest prices of over 300 airlines and travel websites; if booking is needed, itineraries can be built directly in AI Mode; if users want to wait and see if prices drop, they can make requests such as "Help me track these flight prices."

When prices change for the user's entered destination and dates, the system will notify them via email. AI Mode's flight price tracking is now available in over 180 countries.

For hotel bookings, users can discover and book hotels through conversations with AI Mode. After informing it of upcoming trips and accommodation preferences, the system returns a list of options with reviews and key factors. Once a hotel is selected, users can ask AI Mode to assist with booking, then choose the "Continue on Google" option, which appears alongside Google-integrated partners, including hotel chains and travel websites. Users can then select rooms, review details such as cancellation policies, and complete the booking with Google Pay. Google noted that the hotel or booking platform will handle the reservation and any customer service.

AI Mode's hotel booking has launched in the U.S. in English, with offerings from Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to be available in the coming weeks.

Additionally, AI Mode can now answer queries like "I want to fly from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles. Please help me find some nonstop flight options departing October 9 and returning October 12," displaying flight and hotel costs in points or miles, allowing users to see the miles required to book a matching flight. This update is now rolling out globally.
