en.Wedoany.com Reported - Speller Metcalfe, a family-owned construction contractor in the Midlands and South West of England, announced its annual results for the year ending 31 March 2026 on 10 July 2026. The financial report shows the company achieved a second consecutive year of record profitability, with pre-tax profit reaching £5 million, a significant year-on-year increase of 48%. Although turnover slightly decreased from £162.4 million to £158.9 million over the same period, the pre-tax profit margin improved from 2.1% to 3.15% through business structure optimisation, while the gross margin rose from 9.5% to 10.9%.

Founded in 1995, Speller Metcalfe is headquartered in Malvern, Worcestershire, with offices in Gloucester and London. The company was co-founded by Steve Speller and Andy Metcalfe and is currently led by second-generation family members James Speller and Adrian Speller, who serve as joint managing directors. The company's operations cover education, healthcare, defence, commercial, residential, and public sectors.

The company shares its success with all employees through an additional profit distribution, amounting to 20% of annual profits. Joint Managing Director James Speller stated that the strong financial performance enables the company to directly share success with all employees.

In terms of order backlog, the company has secured 98% of its budgeted turnover for the next 12 months, in the form of signed contracts or Pre-Construction Service Agreements (PCSA). James Speller emphasised that the company does not aim to become a "bigger version of someone else," but rather strives to combine the trust relationships of a regional contractor with the delivery capabilities of a tier-one contractor.

Recently, the company achieved ISO 27001 certification for information security management and BS 99001 certification for construction quality management, placing it among the few contractors in the UK holding both standards simultaneously. As the Building Safety Act continues to raise industry standards, this milestone further reinforces the company's commitment to quality, resilience, and continuous improvement.
