en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dutch WIND Group has established a cable storage and offshore service hub in Oskarshamn, Sweden, to expand its operations in the Baltic Sea region. Through this hub, the company provides submarine cable logistics, cable recycling, and related services, covering cable transportation, storage, cable equipment supply, and a range of supporting offshore services.

WIND Group has signed a long-term agreement with port operator Smålandshamnar to secure a dedicated site in Oskarshamn. The port features a 435-meter quay and a water depth of at least 10.3 meters, suitable for accommodating various related vessels and supporting efficient ship-to-ship cable transfer. The new hub will serve offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea region, which is currently experiencing rapid offshore energy expansion.
WIND CEO Tom Nooij stated that the new hub is a significant step in the company's business expansion in the Baltic Sea region. By integrating all of WIND Group's capabilities, it can provide customers with turntable rental, logistics, marshalling, as well as equipment supply, maintenance, and vessel mobilization services through Draftec, thereby supporting offshore projects more efficiently.
Smålandshamnar CEO Niclas Strömqvist stated that this collaboration is a strategic investment that will strengthen Oskarshamn's role in the rapidly growing offshore energy sector in the Baltic Sea region.
