en.Wedoany.com Reported - G11 Resources (ASX:G11) has completed a second diamond drill hole at the Zig Zag target within the Sedgwick Bluff Project in Tasmania, intersecting a broad zone of hydrothermal alteration. Diamond drill hole SD2602, drilled at the Zig Zag Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics (CSAMT) target, encountered approximately 90 meters of silicified-sericitized-pyritized rhyolite from 1,089 meters downhole.
According to G11, pyrite content within the alteration zone ranges from approximately 3-4% in weakly mineralized areas to locally exceeding 50%. The drill hole was completed to a depth of 1,201 meters, testing the western portion of the Zig Zag target approximately 600 meters below surface. G11 described this intersection as a "very positive result," supporting the company's strategy of targeting base metals and gold within the Mt Read Volcanic Belt. Diamond core from SD2602 has been sent to the laboratory for base metal and gold analysis, while downhole electromagnetic surveys are underway to identify sulfide-related conductors. G11 noted that survey results and assay results will guide subsequent drilling at Zig Zag.
While awaiting results, the drill rig has moved to the Sunrise electromagnetic target in Comstock Valley, where an initial 700-meter diamond drill hole is currently being drilled to test an untested geophysical target.
G11 plans to move the drill rig back to Zig Zag after completing the Sunrise hole. The Mt Read Volcanic Belt hosts multiple mines, including Mt Lyell, Henty, Roseberry, Hellyer, and Renison Bell. According to G11, much of the belt remains underexplored due to access restrictions.
