en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Kama Pulp and Paper Mill («КАМА»), part of the Sveza Group («Свеза»), has announced the results of its investment program implementation for the first half of 2026, with total financing exceeding 370 million rubles. According to a representative of the Sveza Group («Свеза») who briefed CNews, these funds were allocated to accelerate key production processes, expand the use of automation solutions, enhance equipment reliability, and lay the groundwork for further capacity growth at the mill.
One of the key projects is the automation upgrade of the coating section on Paper Machine No. 9 (КДМ №9), for which the company allocated 5.4 million rubles. The new system has reduced paper web threading time by 30%, lowered the risk of equipment downtime, and completely eliminated manual operations, thereby improving workplace safety for employees at the Kama Pulp and Paper Mill («КАМА»).
An investment of 24 million rubles was made in the technical upgrade and optimization of the steam condensate system's operating modes. During the annual summer shutdown, technicians completed the organization of steam blowing and the installation of heat exchange equipment. The implementation of this plan will shorten paper web drying time and increase the speed efficiency of Paper Machine No. 9 (КДМ-9) by 3% to 5%, depending on the paperboard grammage, while the new heat exchangers will also significantly reduce the temperature of the return condensate.
Two other projects, with investments of 78 million rubles and 5.4 million rubles respectively, are in their final stages. The former involves the modernization of the ventilation system, which directly impacts the efficiency of the drying section and reduces steam consumption through heat recovery; the latter involves updating the pumping equipment in Bleached Chemi-Thermomechanical Pulp Mill No. 2 (БХТММ №2), improving the reliability of raw material supply.
Roman Sheravin, Executive Director of the Kama Pulp and Paper Mill, stated that in the first half of the year, the company focused on projects that yield long-term results. Automation of production processes helps increase productivity, reduce the impact of human factors, and ensure employee safety. Simultaneously, developing deep wood processing technologies, improving raw material utilization efficiency, and gradually upgrading the production infrastructure lay the foundation for the mill's further development and the consolidation of its market position.
The investment program continues to move forward. By the end of 2026, company experts will develop a plan for the deep modernization of the biological wastewater treatment stage. Additionally, considering the growing demands of the machines, preparations are underway for the technical modification of the pipeline transporting pulp from Bleached Chemi-Thermomechanical Pulp Mill No. 1 (БХТММ №1) to Paper Machine No. 9 (КДМ №9). Furthermore, the company plans to reconstruct the internal road infrastructure of the industrial site.
