Sri Aman Chinese community leader Temenggong Kuek Yik Sing stated that the completion of the connection works for the Batang Lupar Second Bridge marks a significant milestone in Sarawak's infrastructure development, symbolizing the state's ongoing progress toward modernization. Once the bridge is operational, it will bring more development opportunities to Sri Aman and Betong, particularly in areas such as economic growth, investment, tourism, trade, and regional development. Residents traveling from Kuching to Sri Aman, Betong, or even onward to Sibu will have a more convenient transportation option, while enhancing convenience, safety, and comfort for road users.
Chong Yik Seng noted that the Batang Lupar Second Bridge, as one of the tallest cable-stayed bridges in Malaysia, will not only serve as a vital transportation facility but also become a new landmark for Sri Aman, exerting a profound impact on local development. He believes that infrastructure development not only connects different regions but also accelerates local economic activities, creates more employment and development opportunities, and improves the living standards of Sri Aman residents.
