en.Wedoany.com Reported - CMA CGM officially launched the Iberimar service in July this year, connecting seven ports in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, aiming to strengthen maritime transport links between the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco.

The Iberimar service operates on a weekly frequency, deploying three container ships each with a capacity of 1,700 TEUs, with a total voyage duration of 27 days. On the southbound route, it departs from the port of Vigo, Spain, and sequentially calls at Leixões and Lisbon in Portugal, as well as Casablanca and Agadir in Morocco. On the northbound return leg, it calls at Tanger Med port and Algeciras, Spain, before returning to Vigo.

CMA CGM stated that the new service enhances connection speeds between Vigo and Portuguese ports, as well as Algeciras and Tanger Med, while accelerating direct links from Casablanca and Agadir to Algeciras and Tanger Med. This service is a key component of CMA CGM's efforts to strengthen its shipping network in the Mediterranean region and is expected to positively promote trade between Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

The launch of the Iberimar service comes at a time when Morocco's economy is growing rapidly and trade volumes between Europe and North Africa are on the rise. By directly connecting major ports on the Iberian Peninsula with Morocco's commercial hub, Casablanca, and its industrial port, Agadir, the service offers new logistics options for importers and exporters. As one of the world's leading shipping companies, CMA CGM is meeting customers' growing service demands across different regions by launching new routes and improving port connectivity efficiency.
