en.Wedoany.com Reported - Terra-Gen, one of the largest independent integrated renewable energy producers in the United States, co-owned by Masdar and Igneo Infrastructure Partners, announced that its Lockhart Solar Photovoltaic Phase IV project has commenced commercial operations. The 80 MW project, located in San Bernardino County, California, expands Terra-Gen's renewable energy portfolio in the state.
Through a long-term power purchase agreement with a load-serving entity in California, the project can meet the electricity needs of approximately 40,000 households and businesses annually.

Terra-Gen CEO John O'Connor stated that the project helps meet growing electricity demand while generating economic, social, and environmental benefits. He noted that with a project development pipeline exceeding 15 GW, Terra-Gen is capable of consistently supplying reliable, sustainable energy at scale.
During peak construction, the project created over 220 jobs, with the construction team completing more than 122,000 work hours without any lost-time incidents. Cupertino Electric served as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project.
Lockhart Phase IV is the final stage of the Lockhart Solar and Energy Storage Facility. With all four phases fully operational, the facility has a total installed capacity of 365 MW of solar power and 173.7 MW of battery storage, supplying enough electricity annually to meet the needs of over 350,000 households and businesses.
The facility occupies approximately 4,000 acres of private land, housing nearly one million solar modules and 248 battery cabinets. It connects to Southern California Edison's Kramer Junction substation via existing transmission lines.
