Fourth-quarter copper production was 491,900 tons, down 5% year-on-year, primarily impacted by declining ore grades at Chile's Escondida copper mine and maintenance activities.
Looking ahead to the 2027 fiscal year, BHP expects iron ore production to be between 260 million and 272 million tons; due to factors such as further expected declines in ore grades at the Escondida copper mine, copper production is forecast to fall to between 1.65 million and 1.8 million tons.
