en.Wedoany.com Reported - Epiroc has received an order for drill rig equipment from a large copper mine in Peru, supplying multiple Pit Viper 351 open-pit blasthole drill rigs and related services. The order is valued at approximately SEK 210 million and was confirmed in the second quarter of 2026.

The Peruvian mine is operated by a consortium that includes a leading Chinese investment company and a globally renowned mining company headquartered in Australia, which also serves as the mine operator. The customer ordered the drill rigs to support the mine's expansion plans. In addition to the drill rigs, Epiroc will provide drilling tools, spare parts, as well as on-site technical services, field support, and professional training to ensure optimal performance for large-scale mining operations.

Helena Hedblom, President and CEO of Epiroc, stated that the company has supplied advanced drilling equipment to the mine for nearly a decade and looks forward to continuing to support this major copper producer in optimizing safety, productivity, and total cost of ownership.

The Pit Viper 351 drill rig is designed for high intensity and long service life, equipped with Epiroc's Rig Control System (RCS) operating platform and featuring automation capabilities. This equipment sets a benchmark in productivity and reliability when large-diameter blastholes are part of the mining production plan. Equipment delivery is expected to begin at the end of this year and continue through the first half of 2027.
