en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Foothill Medical Center Association has completed the installation of a 300-kilowatt rooftop and carport solar system on its commercial property in Foothill Ranch, California. The new system is expected to generate approximately 506 megawatt-hours of clean electricity annually.

The project was developed by WattHub Renewables and constructed by SunRenu Solar. Under the project agreement, the Foothill Medical Center receives the solar system and all roof restoration services supporting the solar structure at no upfront cost. WattHub Renewables structured the project so that the economics of the power purchase agreement were sufficient to cover both the solar installation and roof restoration costs. SunRenu Solar coordinated the overall design of the roof and solar project.
Chris Leonard, Chief Revenue Officer of WattHub Renewables, stated that the Foothill Medical Center is precisely the type of property historically excluded from the commercial solar market. It is a well-managed homeowners association (HOA) with a good roof that has reached the end of its useful life. By combining roof restoration with a solar array, the biggest barrier to solar adoption for such properties has been eliminated. WattHub's mission is to make clean energy work for real buildings with real constraints. The Foothill project serves as a template already applied to other commercial HOAs in Southern California: one contractor, a lower monthly bill, and a new roof included.
