en.Wedoany.com Reported - GreenYellow has signed a contract with MISA Minerais to build a ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant at the latter's facility in Ceará State. The project adopts a "zero-grid" model, meaning all generated electricity is used for industrial operations' own consumption without feeding into the grid. The project investment is approximately 8 million Brazilian reais, aiming to enhance the mining company's energy autonomy and improve electricity cost predictability.
Marcelo Xavier, CEO of GreenYellow Brazil, stated that the system reinforces the company's commitment to accelerating customers' energy transition, aiming to drive higher operational efficiency and competitiveness.
The photovoltaic power plant will be equipped with 2,499 kWp of photovoltaic module capacity, with a post-inverter power of 1,650 kWac. In addition to reducing reliance on electricity from distribution utilities, the system is expected to avoid approximately 156 tons of CO2 emissions annually, with environmental benefits equivalent to planting 779 trees or the annual electricity consumption of about 2,081 households.
Jaime Luiz de Oliveira e Vieira, General Manager of MISA Minerais, stated that the implementation of the photovoltaic power plant is a significant step in the company's strategy to expand operational efficiency and advance sustainable development goals. In addition to reducing the operational environmental footprint, the project offers greater electricity cost predictability, contributing to more efficient and competitive management.
The project is executed under the Energy as a Service (EaaS) model, with GreenYellow responsible for investment and plant construction, requiring no initial capital from MISA Minerais. The plant is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2027.
