en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 15, Sol Systems, after successfully completing financing, will begin construction of a 123 MWAC solar portfolio in Illinois, located in Knox, Tazewell, and Peoria counties, covering over 900 acres.

Sol Systems Chief Financial Officer Richard Romero stated that this milestone reflects the company's ability to leverage the necessary capital structure, execution discipline, and partner support to advance high-quality projects from development to construction, thereby building a lasting operational portfolio.
The solar portfolio is expected to create approximately 300 construction jobs, generate over $25 million in long-term property tax revenue, and promote economic and community development in central Illinois.
SOLV Energy will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the portfolio. SOLV has previously collaborated with Sol Systems on the 189 MWDC Eldorado solar project in southern Illinois.
SOLV Energy CEO George Hershman stated that the team is proud to continue its partnership with Sol Systems as the Peoria solar portfolio enters the construction phase. He noted that the team is committed to safely and reliably delivering high-quality clean energy infrastructure, while creating lasting value for the communities where the projects are built, and looks forward to bringing utility-scale EPC expertise to another significant Sol Systems portfolio in Illinois.
