en.Wedoany.com Reported - Enerjisa Üretim has secured a $180 million loan for three wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 250 megawatts in Turkey's Muğla Province. The three projects—Gaia (83 MW), Falp (75 MW), and Artuna (92 MW)—all commenced construction in 2022 and are scheduled to be connected to the grid this year. German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon will supply turbines for these projects.

This financing is part of the YEKA 2 (Renewable Energy Zone National Support Mechanism) portfolio. In 2019, Enerjisa Üretim and Enercon each won 500 MW of national support in the second round of wind power auctions under this mechanism, with projects distributed across four provinces in western Anatolia. In 2022, the two companies agreed to jointly develop the entire YEKA 2 portfolio.

Dutch entrepreneurial development bank FMO arranged $100 million of the financing, with the remainder coming from DEG (a subsidiary of Germany's KfW Group focused on private sector investments). FMO stated that as the lead arranger for this eight-year long-term hard currency financing, such loans remain relatively scarce in the local market. The institution also noted that the funds help bridge project gaps and plans to mobilize up to an additional $25 million from institutional investors through partnerships.

Upon completion, the three wind farms in Muğla Province are expected to generate approximately 630 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the yearly consumption of about 190,000 households, and reduce carbon emissions by 221,000 tons per year. Enerjisa Üretim, a joint venture between Germany's E.ON and Turkey's Sabancı, focuses on wind and hydropower projects and is currently Turkey's largest private electricity producer, with a total installed capacity of 4.6 GW.

The company recently commissioned the 75 MW Ihlamur wind farm in Çanakkale Province, consisting of 18 turbines, marking the completion of a YEKA 2 project in that province. Ihlamur is Enerjisa Üretim's 36th power plant, bringing its wind power installed capacity to over 1.2 GW. Previously, the Dampınar wind power project in Aydın Province, part of the same portfolio, was also connected to the grid, featuring 11 turbines with a total capacity of 46 MW.

In other industry developments, Metgün Enerji put its Elmacık wind farm in Kırklareli Province into operation a month ago. The wind farm has a total capacity of 70.8 MW and an effective capacity of 70 MW, equipped with 12 turbines.
