en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 17, the first landmark projects of the TAZARA Railway Revitalization Project—the High-Skilled Talent Training Center and the Modern Dispatching Command Center Complex—officially commenced construction in Tanzania, marking the transition of the project from preliminary stages such as survey and design to the physical construction phase. Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian, Permanent Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport Kayarara, Chairman of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Li Chongyang, Union Chairman Sun Xiangchun, Deputy General Manager Zhang Junle, Director General of TAZARA Railway Authority Chinandu, and over 100 representatives from various sectors attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
The two centers cover a total area of 21,800 square meters, with a total building area of 9,870 square meters. They integrate functions such as talent training, dispatching command, and logistical support, featuring teaching spaces including theoretical classrooms and professional training rooms, equipped with five professional dispatching stations, as well as communication systems and integrated monitoring systems.

In his speech, Chen Mingjian stated that the training center and dispatching center will train a large number of railway technical professionals for Tanzania and Zambia, creating job opportunities, and expressed hope that the training center will become a hub for railway vocational and technical training.

Li Chongyang reviewed the 59-year history of cooperation between CCECC and the TAZARA Railway. He pointed out that the High-Skilled Talent Training Center will provide local youth with opportunities to learn modern transportation technologies, broadening employment channels; the Modern Dispatching Command Center will enhance railway operation and management capabilities, achieving integrated and intelligent management of train dispatching, operation monitoring, and emergency command. He stated that CCECC will, under the guidance of the three governments, complete the revitalization tasks with high quality.

Kayarara stated that the training center and dispatching center are key sub-projects that will provide professional learning opportunities for Tanzanian youth, with significance extending beyond railway restoration itself. Chinandu noted that the two centers respond to the demand for professional talent and efficient management in modern railways, helping to foster local talent cultivation, technology transfer, and improvements in operational safety and efficiency.

After the speeches, the attending guests shoveled soil onto the foundation stone, and construction machinery on site was activated, marking the start of the project.

As the builder of the TAZARA Railway and the implementing unit of the revitalization project, CCECC will promote high-standard planning, high-quality construction, and efficient progress, strengthen local talent cultivation and technical capacity building, and coordinate engineering construction, operational support, and capacity enhancement.
