en.Wedoany.com Reported - Siberian Generating Company has completed the installation of a new turbine generator stator in the turbine hall of Unit 1 at the Abakanskaya Thermal Power Plant (TPP). Weighing approximately 90 tons, the stator is the first component of the new turbine unit to be put in place.

To move the stator to its designated position, the Abakan TPP utilized equipment with maximum lifting capacity. Specialists employed two bridge cranes to simultaneously hoist this component requiring special handling, transporting it through the entire workshop via overhead lifting while bypassing operating equipment. This operation demanded thorough preparation and skilled expertise from the energy specialists.

The next steps include connecting the stator to pipelines and busbars, aligning it with components of the future Unit 1 turbine, integrating it with the automation system, and other installation work. It is expected that by the end of this year, the main components of the turbine unit and automatic control system will be fully installed in the turbine hall.

The modernization project for Unit 1 at the Abakan TPP was launched at the end of 2025. The turbine, which has been in operation for over 40 years, will be completely replaced under the federal power equipment renewal program.
