The project is part of CyrusOne's expansion of hyperscale data center operations in the UK, aimed at meeting the growing demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The value of this data center pre-construction contract awarded to John F Hunt is believed to be approximately £20 million. The engineering team must address historical landfill issues and prepare platforms for the data halls within a 17-week fast-track program. This data center pre-construction contract involves over 40,000 cubic meters of earthworks, including excavation, replacement, and compaction to establish elevations, as well as the installation of an engineered cover layer. It also includes the installation of a site-wide gas protection system and drainage facilities prior to main construction. The entire development is the first phase of CyrusOne's LON6 master plan, which will ultimately provide ten data halls and 90 MW of IT capacity.
