en.Wedoany.com Reported - OC&C Strategy Consultants has completed the redesign of its London headquarters, creating a workspace spanning over 37,000 square feet designed to support employee learning, collaboration, and relationship building.
This redesign comes amid significant changes in how professional services firms work and collaborate. While many organizations have questioned the future role of the office in recent years, OC&C believes that bringing people together remains fundamental to how consultants learn, solve complex problems, build relationships, and develop their careers.

Located in central London, the headquarters spans four floors and can accommodate over 400 employees. Its design revolves around the core moments of consulting work, including learning from colleagues, tackling complex challenges together, building client relationships, and nurturing the next generation of talent.
At the heart of the redesign is the creation of a space that better reflects how OC&C works and its values. The headquarters blends flexible workspaces, hospitality-style social areas, and dedicated learning environments, designed to foster cross-team and cross-generational interaction, creative thinking, and knowledge sharing.
One of the most significant changes involved moving partner offices away from window positions to maximize natural light throughout the office, allowing more employees to enjoy panoramic views of London during the workday. This decision prioritizes people over hierarchy, ensuring broader access to daylight and cityscapes for the wider workforce.

The redesigned headquarters also includes a new multi-purpose training and event space, equipped with adaptable layouts and integrated audiovisual technology, capable of hosting large training sessions, all-hands meetings, workshops, client events, and team gatherings. This space reflects OC&C's belief that learning is one of the most important reasons to bring people together.
Craftsmanship emerged as a defining theme throughout the project. During the design process, a recurring idea surfaced: every client challenge at OC&C begins with a customized, first-principles approach. Working with design and construction partner Peldon Rose, the firm sought to create a workplace shaped by the same craftsmanship, curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful execution. Natural materials, textured finishes, and carefully considered architectural details permeate the space, creating a refined and enduring environment.
Sustainability was treated as a design principle rather than a constraint. Existing ergonomic office chairs were refurbished and reused rather than replaced; recycled fishing nets were incorporated into new furniture; plywood from a previous fit-out was repurposed to reinforce walls in the workspace. Existing materials and infrastructure were retained where possible, while FSC-certified timber and durable, recyclable furniture help reduce long-term environmental impact, reflecting OC&C's commitment to responsible resource use as a Certified B Corporation.

At the core of the headquarters is a coffee bar and social hub, designed to bring people together. Rather than separating client and employee experiences, the redesign creates opportunities for conversation, connection, and collaboration throughout the workday.

Mel Jones, Head of Workplace Experience at OC&C Strategy Consultants, said that from the project's outset, the goal was to create a space that reflects both current ways of working and future needs. Sustainability and longevity were key considerations, alongside supporting collaboration, learning, and connection. The team deliberately designed a welcoming, flexible, and people-centric workspace, making thoughtful choices around materials, reuse, and overall experience.
The redesigned UK headquarters is part of OC&C's global investment in creating environments where employees can thrive, supporting both high-performance teamwork and a strong sense of culture and community. Tim Cook, Partner at OC&C Strategy Consultants, noted that at a time when many organizations are rethinking the role of the office, the firm remains convinced that bringing people together is fundamental to how consultants learn, develop, and do their best work. Creating spaces that actively support mentoring, development, and meaningful interaction is a top priority. As a strategy consultancy, the learning and development model remains the engine of people growth, and the combination of fresh perspectives with decades of experience is a vital part of that.
The project was completed in collaboration with Peldon Rose, an award-winning workplace design and construction specialist. Rusell Glover, Group Design Director at Peldon Rose, commented that historically, many workplaces were designed around hierarchy, with the best spaces and views reserved for a select few. Working with OC&C, the team challenged this approach, focusing on creating an environment centered on people, learning, and connection. The result is a workplace that combines thoughtful sustainability choices, high-quality design, and a strong sense of community.
Beyond the redesign, OC&C London is also expanding its focus on long-term environmental and social impact initiatives. Through partnerships with organizations such as Trees for Cities and the Sutton Trust, the firm is supporting initiatives that help create greener cities, expand opportunities, and open career doors for future generations.
