en.Wedoany.com Reported - Lufthansa Group is further expanding its Middle East route network, resuming scheduled flights to Saudi Arabia and Jordan from September 2026. According to information released by the group on Thursday, Lufthansa will first resume flights from Frankfurt to the Saudi capital Riyadh starting September 10, with three weekly frequencies.

Starting September 15, ITA Airways, the group's Italian subsidiary, will add new flights from Rome to Riyadh, operating five times per week. Austrian Airlines plans to resume its route from Vienna to the Jordanian capital Amman on October 2, also with three weekly flights.
Lufthansa Group stated that it will continue to monitor the evolving security situation in the Middle East and maintain communication and coordination with relevant authorities. Given the uncertainty in the regional situation, flight schedules may be adjusted at short notice, and further announcements will be made accordingly. The group resumed some flights to Tel Aviv earlier this month, while routes to Dubai and Tehran remain suspended.
Lufthansa Group's latest Middle East route resumption plan covers multiple airlines under its umbrella, with Lufthansa, ITA Airways, and Austrian Airlines connecting Riyadh and Amman from Frankfurt, Rome, and Vienna respectively. The group's decision to resume Middle East routes was an operational decision made after assessing the regional security situation.
