en.Wedoany.com Reported - U.S. low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines (Frontier Airlines) announced on September 10, 2026 that it plans to launch its first South America flights in December 2026, connecting Orlando with Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena in Colombia. The three routes still require government approval.

Under the plan, daily Medellin flights will begin on December 10, and Bogota flights on December 14. The Bogota route will initially operate six times a week, increasing to daily service from March 6, 2027. Weekly Cartagena flights will begin on December 19.

These routes give Frontier Airlines a foothold in South America, serving Colombia's capital, a major commercial center and a Caribbean coastal destination.

Tyri Squyres, Frontier Airlines' Vice President of Public and Consumer Affairs, said the airline believes "demand for low-cost travel between Orlando and Colombia is strong and unmet."

Introductory one-way fares start at $99 for Bogota, $169 for Medellin and $129 for Cartagena. These prices apply to select dates between January 14 and April 5, 2027, excluding March 23 to 30. Tickets must be purchased by September 16, 2026.

Frontier Airlines said that at launch it will operate up to 14 weekly flights from Orlando; this will increase to 15 once the Bogota route becomes daily service. The company plans to operate these routes with Airbus A320 family aircraft.
