en.Wedoany.com Reported - Qatar Airways announced its winter route plan on Friday: this winter, it will operate more than 186 weekly flights to over 170 destinations, with a route network covering Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.

The Doha-based airline expects that by December 2026, its network will operate close to 1,800 weekly flights, with increased flight frequencies in multiple markets and the resumption of services to Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Starlink deployment is also accelerating. Currently, more than 150 wide-body aircraft have been equipped with the service, supporting up to 340 Starlink flights per day.

African routes see the largest increase this season, as these markets have a high proportion of tourism. Daily flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania, will resume on October 25; Seychelles flights will increase from 4 to 7 weekly flights starting March 1, 2027; Johannesburg will increase from 14 to 18 weekly flights starting December 2.

Qatar Airways said the Asia-Pacific market has the largest frequency increase. Phuket weekly flights nearly double to 21; the Maldives increases from 12 to 21; Ho Chi Minh City will add 4 new weekly direct flights to Doha.

In Australia, on December 9, the Canberra route resumes via Melbourne; the Melbourne route doubles to 14 weekly flights. In the same month, Qatar Airways' partnership with Virgin Australia expands from Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. This resumption reconnects the Australian capital to Qatar Airways' global network and adds transit connections to Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

In Europe, London Heathrow weekly flights increase from 49 to 56; Frankfurt will add capacity in December. In North America, Montreal leads with a 40% increase in seats. In Germany, starting December 7, Frankfurt (FRA) weekly flights increase from 18 to 21, with a 7% capacity increase.

Middle East route services are also advancing, with a 10% increase in daily flights this winter and the resumption of 4 routes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Starting with Qassim (ELQ) on October 25, Qatar Airways will also resume flights to Taif (TIF) (October 31), Yanbu (YNB) (January 2, 2027), and Tabuk (TUU) (January 3, 2027), to enhance connectivity across Saudi Arabia.
