This solution has already reached a 30% penetration rate on Zelos Technology's newly added operational routes, and it is expected that by the end of this month, the cumulative L4 mapless operational mileage will exceed 40,000 kilometers.

Zelos, founded in 2021, is headquartered in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. In January 2026, Zelos Technology and Cainiao Autonomous Vehicles jointly announced a deep strategic integration, with Cainiao becoming a shareholder of Zelos.

This progress indicates that L4-level driverless driving can now break free from reliance on high-definition maps, shifting from map-driven to real-time perception and AI decision-driven approaches. In contrast, L2-level mapless assisted driving still places driving responsibility on humans, while L4-level driverless driving requires the vehicle to independently complete the entire process of perception, positioning, decision-making, and control, making the technical threshold for map-free operation higher.

Zhu Weicheng, co-founder and CIO of Zelos Technology, stated that the company has completed a technical upgrade of its new-generation L4-level mapless driverless solution based on a lightweight map solution, and has taken the lead in achieving mass production. Compared to the lightweight map solution, the mapless solution further reduces costs and shortens the vehicle deployment cycle to within one day, enabling "buy and use, deliver and operate."
