en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) adopted a joint declaration at the ITU Regional Development Forum for Asia-Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand, aimed at promoting ICT standards and strengthening capacity building in the Asia-Pacific region.
Based on the shared understanding that "ICT standardization and capacity building are crucial for inclusive digital development," the declaration emphasizes expanding expert participation and engagement in capacity development activities related to emerging cutting-edge technologies, as well as sharing standardization experiences and best practices to promote the use of ITU standards.
The joint declaration builds on the information security standard technical training held by TTA for 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific and the Commonwealth of Independent States in February this year. During the training, TTA, together with Korean companies, introduced practical applications of Korean-style international standard solutions such as passwordless authentication, which received enthusiastic responses from participating countries. The ITU thus recognized that Korea's standardization experience is vital for digital development in the Asia-Pacific region, leading to this collaboration.

According to the joint declaration, the cooperation between the two parties will not only support digital transformation in the Asia-Pacific region but also facilitate the entry of ICT equipment and services applying Korean companies' standard technologies into the regional market.
The ITU emphasized that TTA is a reliable partner leading ICT standardization in the Asia-Pacific region, as demonstrated by previous information security training cases. Through this joint declaration, both parties will promote the dissemination of global digital standard technologies and actively support balanced development across regions.
TTA President Son Seung-hyun stated, "This signing is a significant achievement demonstrating the excellence of K-standards through greater cooperation with the ITU. Based on TTA's accumulated standardization experience and expertise, we will work closely with the ITU to ensure that our companies' outstanding standard technologies and equipment can be widely promoted not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also on the global stage."
