en.Wedoany.com Reported - Minera Los Pelambres continues to deploy support operations in response to the frontal system affecting the Choapa Province, always prioritizing the safety of people—both in its operations and in neighboring communities.

The company revealed that it has recently strengthened the protection of personnel still at the operational site, who have been relocated to facilities equipped with food services, heating, and medical staff. To this end, the company has organized transfers of personnel to their homes or between Minera Los Pelambres facilities.

In terms of infrastructure, the company conducted an inspection visit to the El Mauro tailings storage facility (Tranque El Mauro), with the participation of representatives from the Caimanes community. The inspection confirmed that the facility remains stable and safe in the face of the meteorological event, with continuous monitoring through its operational and geotechnical control systems.

The mining company also revealed that it has deployed over 20 heavy machines to clear critical roads, such as the El Boldo slope (cuesta El Boldo). A total of more than 60 support actions have been coordinated, in collaboration with the municipalities of Salamanca, Illapel, Los Vilos, and Canela, as well as the Disaster Risk Management Committee (Cogrid).

These efforts have protected urban areas and access to essential services affected by rainfall.

Minera Los Pelambres stated that it will continue to coordinate technical and operational support with authorities to help restore connectivity and promote the well-being of communities in the Choapa Province.
