en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indian bearing manufacturer NRB Bearings Limited (NSE: NRBBEARING) announced on July 17, 2026, that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mahant Tool Room Private Limited (MTRPL), has completed the acquisition of Mahant Tool Room (MTR), a precision machining company based in Bengaluru. Through this transaction, NRB Bearings officially enters the global high-precision components market for aerospace and defense.
Founded in 1965, NRB Bearings is a leading Indian manufacturer of high-precision bearings and friction solutions, with core products including needle roller bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, thrust bearings, and various bearing cages. The company operates manufacturing and R&D facilities in India, Thailand, Europe, and the United States, exporting products to over 40 countries worldwide.
Mahant Tool Room is a precision machining company in Bengaluru specializing in manufacturing high-precision components for the aerospace industry. The company holds the AS9100D aerospace quality management system certification, considered the "gold standard" in international aerospace manufacturing. The financial terms of the acquisition indicate a transaction value of approximately INR 275 million to INR 280 million (about USD 3.3 million).

Through this acquisition, NRB Bearings will gain access to Mahant Tool Room's existing manufacturing platform and aerospace customer resources, significantly reducing the time required to enter high-barrier markets. The combined business will cover key aerospace component areas such as landing gear assemblies, fuel injection systems, emergency door mechanisms, and spherical plain bearings. NRB Bearings estimates the global market size for this segment to be approximately USD 14.5 billion to USD 16.5 billion.
With the completion of the acquisition, Mahant Tool Room Private Limited has officially obtained AS9100D certification, enabling it to supply precision-machined components and bearing products to global aerospace and defense customers. Harshbeena Zaveri, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NRB Bearings, stated that this acquisition opens a growth channel for the company into the world's most challenging aerospace and defense markets.
This acquisition is a key component of NRB Bearings' strategic goal to double revenue by 2031. The company had previously established an industrial bearing joint venture with Italy's Unitec Group. Through the Mahant Tool Room acquisition, NRB Bearings will build a "dual-use" technology platform for both military and commercial aviation, leveraging existing automotive customer relationships (including Daimler and Audi) to expand into commercial aerospace and defense sectors. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the upgrade of Indian component manufacturers into the high-value aerospace supply chain.
