Siemens Energy Invests $300 Million in U.S. High-Voltage Switchgear Factory
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Siemens Energy has officially commenced construction of a new factory in Mississippi, USA, with a total investment of approximately $300 million to produce high-voltage switchgear, and is expected to create up to 300 jobs.
Located in Pearl, Mississippi, the new factory will primarily manufacture high-voltage switchgear. This equipment is a key infrastructure component in power systems, used to protect grid equipment, prevent large-scale blackouts, and maintain stable grid operation. As global power grids continue to upgrade and new energy sources are increasingly integrated, the importance of high-voltage switchgear is steadily rising.

Tim Holt, a member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy, stated that as the U.S. power grid becomes more complex and dynamic, the equipment produced in Mississippi is crucial for ensuring safe and reliable power transmission. The company's continued expansion of investment in the state will not only further strengthen the U.S. domestic supply chain but also help meet the growing demand for grid construction in the future.
In addition to the production facility, the new campus will also include an advanced employee training center. Siemens Energy stated that this training center will be a key component of the company's talent development strategy, preparing for the manufacturing transformation brought about by the era of artificial intelligence by enhancing employee skills.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves attended the groundbreaking ceremony and stated that the competitiveness of the U.S. economy depends on the ability to manufacture products domestically and provide stable, reliable, and affordable energy. Siemens Energy's new factory will not only further strengthen U.S. grid infrastructure but also create hundreds of high-quality jobs in Mississippi. Reeves also noted that an increasing number of global companies are choosing to invest in Mississippi, reflecting the continued recognition of the local labor resources and manufacturing base.
This new factory will become Siemens Energy's second manufacturing base in Mississippi. The company has been conducting manufacturing operations in the state since 1973, and its current factory in Richland also produces high-voltage switchgear. In February of this year, Siemens Energy announced a $1 billion investment in its U.S. manufacturing operations to expand domestic capacity and increase its workforce, with the Pearl factory being a key component of this investment plan.
