Fortress Power CEO Jing Yu stated that virtual power plants represent the future of energy management, and the company is committed to helping homeowners and small business owners fully unlock the value of their battery systems. Through the partnership with Flip Energy, both parties are strengthening existing VPP integrations while expanding access to new grid service programs. This collaboration aims to create more opportunities for system owners to generate economic returns from their energy storage systems, while supporting a more resilient and reliable grid. Currently, Fortress Power's energy storage systems are participating in 12 VPP projects across the United States, including Puerto Rico's LUMA Clean Energy Plan (CBES) and Rocky Mountain Power's Wattsmart Battery Program. Flip Energy provides a platform for battery manufacturers, installers, utilities, and energy partners to utilize energy storage systems in grid services. Flip Energy co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Sail Nepal noted that Fortress Power has already established a solid foundation in the VPP market, and the company is pleased to collaborate with the Fortress team to help expand this achievement, strengthen existing integrations, and make it easier for more battery owners to participate in projects that support the grid and create new revenue opportunities.
