Angola's TAAG Deploys Boeing 787-10 on Luanda-Lisbon Route

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Angolan airline TAAG (TAAG – Linhas Aéreas de Angola) has deployed the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the Luanda to Lisbon route, making it the first European route to receive this aircraft type. The new aircraft completed its maiden flight on the 17th.

Initially, the Boeing 787-10 will operate two weekly flights on the Luanda-Lisbon route, departing from Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport on Friday and Saturday nights, and arriving from Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

TAAG stated that this move aims to increase capacity to meet growing demand between Angola and Portugal, while strengthening its role in connecting Angola with key international markets. Lisbon is the airline's most important intercontinental destination and one of the highest-load-factor routes in its international network. The statement noted that traffic between the two countries is driven by economic, institutional, cultural, and family ties, serving business, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travelers.

TAAG also announced that the deployment of this aircraft marks a new phase in its long-haul fleet modernization strategy. The aircraft had previously received certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Currently, TAAG serves 13 domestic and 12 international destinations.
