Samsung unveils its first AI glasses, Galaxy Glasses, with 9-hour battery life

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Samsung revealed details of its first AI smart glasses, the Galaxy Glasses, at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The product was developed in collaboration with Samsung, Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster.

The Galaxy Glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 chip, which features four Arm cores with a maximum clock speed of 1.9GHz, supports display output at 1280x1280 pixels with a 60Hz refresh rate, and can record full HD video at 30 frames per second.

The product design omits a built-in display, integrating one camera at each end of the frame to capture the wearer's field of view in real time. These images serve as input, enabling Google's AI voice assistant, Gemini, to naturally respond to what is seen, providing all-day hands-free service. The Galaxy Glasses offer a battery life of 9 hours on a full charge, and the accompanying storage case includes a built-in battery that provides an additional 7 full recharges.

Leveraging visual recognition capabilities, the glasses support various application scenarios: they can capture whiteboard information during meetings and save it to the Samsung Notes app, in addition to offering voice-guided navigation, real-time conversation translation, and live camera view sharing. For interaction, users can operate the glasses via touch-sensitive areas on the temples. When paired with the Android XR system and the Galaxy Watch 9 series smartwatch, these AI glasses also support gesture control.
