The service operates weekly, connecting Lázaro Cárdenas Port with major Asian ports including Tianjin Xingang, Busan, and Ningbo.
The launch of the SIERRA service will strengthen the logistics corridor between Mexico and the Asia-Pacific region, enabling importers and exporters to connect more efficiently with strategic ports along the route. The "MSC Domitille," which performed the maiden voyage, flies the Portuguese flag and measures 299.93 meters in length. During its berthing operation at Hutchison Ports' LCT specialized container terminal, a total of 2,104 containers were loaded and discharged, thereby testing the port's operational capacity and infrastructure level in serving large vessels.
The addition of the SIERRA service expands the shipping network of Lázaro Cárdenas Port, helping to consolidate its position as a key trade hub and logistics platform on the Pacific coast, while further supporting Mexico's foreign trade competitiveness and economic growth.
