en.Wedoany.com Reported - DHL Freight has announced that the first Superpanther eTopas 600 electric truck for DHL Freight will enter service in the Netherlands in September, with the vehicle shipping from Austria in August. Antje Huber, Senior Vice President of Strategy, Marketing, and People at DHL Freight, stated that this move translates the company's strategic partnership with Superpanther into concrete practical steps; the testing in Austria provided important insights into the vehicle's daily practicality, and deploying it in the DHL Freight network is the next step.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in 2024. In 2025, DHL Freight conducted multiple daily-use tests of the eTopas 600 in Austria, including real-world routes between Vienna and Wels, with the experience "consistently positive." This outcome led the company to decide to use the Superpanther for daily operations with customers in the Netherlands.

Founded in 2022, Superpanther focuses on medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The eTopas 600 is the manufacturer's first electric truck developed for the European market in collaboration with Steyr Automotive. DHL Freight is simultaneously testing different vehicle models and drive types while continuously expanding its fleet of low-emission vehicles. According to DHL Freight, approximately 1,700 such vehicles are currently in use.
