India's SGPS Commissions New Pune Plant with Annual Production Capacity of 1,000 Diesel Generator Sets

(SGPS), an Indian power solutions manufacturer, has announced the commissioning of its newly built plant in the Talegaon industrial hub near Pune. The plant, the first milestone in the company's multi-location manufacturing expansion plan, will primarily focus on the production of diesel generator sets.

According to the plan, the commissioning of the Talegaon plant marks the first step in the company's long-term capacity expansion roadmap, with a further advanced manufacturing facility to be built at Chakan MIDC and an additional new plant planned at the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah. The new plant will produce diesel generator sets with a power range of 100 kVA to 750 kVA for retail customers, with an annual production capacity of approximately 1,000 units. The products will serve applications across sectors including rental, hospitality, healthcare, education, government, and industry. The company stated that the plant is established to meet the growing demand for reliable power solutions across India's commercial, industrial, and retail sectors.

Khurshed Daruvala, Chairman of the Sterling & Wilson Group, said at the inauguration ceremony that the company has strategically initiated its multi-location manufacturing expansion to address the rising demand for products and services across its business segments.
