en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 17, ENGO, a French developer of AR smart sports glasses, announced the completion of a new financing round of €5.1 million (approximately RMB 39.34 million). The round was co-led by Ventech, Odyssée Venture, and Bpifrance Amorçage Industriel, a subsidiary of Bpifrance, with Blueprint Partners providing full advisory support throughout the financing process.
According to the company, following the completion of this financing round, ENGO plans to accelerate the miniaturization and technological iteration of Micro OLED micro-display technology and head-up display (HUD) modules. Additionally, the company plans to recruit 20 professionals in France across marketing, business development, optical and mechanical engineering, and software and data engineering to strengthen product development and international market expansion.
Founded in Grenoble, France, by Éric Marcellin-Dibon and Fabrice Berger Duquene, ENGO focuses on developing ultra-lightweight AR smart sports glasses for endurance sports such as running, cycling, and triathlon. Currently, approximately 90% of the company's revenue comes from markets outside France, with the U.S. market contributing about half of its revenue.
Unlike some current smart glasses manufacturers that adopt display-free solutions, ENGO has chosen to integrate Micro OLED display modules, projecting real-time sports data into the user's field of view via HUD, enabling a data-viewing experience without shifting one's gaze.
In terms of product design, ENGO keeps the device weight under 40 grams, with a battery life of up to 20 hours, and the products are designed and assembled in France. Moving forward, the company will continue to advance the integration of optical, electronic, and embedded technologies to further enhance the lightweight design and practicality of smart sports glasses.
