The report shows that the company's iron ore concentrate production reached 3.94 million wet metric tons (wmt) in the quarter, up 12% year-over-year and 15% quarter-over-quarter, primarily driven by the completion of the acquisition of Norwegian high-purity iron ore producer Rana Gruber in April.

By project, the Bloom Lake project produced 3.5 million wmt of concentrate, while Rana Gruber contributed 0.4 million wmt. In terms of sales, concentrate sales in Q2 totaled 3.34 million dry metric tons (dmt), down 13% year-over-year and 3% quarter-over-quarter, mainly due to adjustments in certain shipment schedules during the ramp-up phase of the Bloom Lake Direct Reduction Grade Pellet Feed (DRPF) project.

The company has completed construction of the Bloom Lake DRPF project and achieved first production of Direct Reduction (DR)-grade iron ore products in June, with the first commercial shipment expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026.

In addition, Champion Iron completed the acquisition of Norwegian mining company Rana Gruber on April 10, 2026, enhancing its supply capability for high-purity iron ore products. Located in northern Norway, Rana Gruber primarily produces hematite and magnetite concentrates, with an annual capacity of approximately 1.8 million dmt. Since being consolidated in the quarter, the mine produced approximately 0.4 million wmt of high-purity iron concentrate, with an average iron grade of 65.2%.
