Julia Rose, Head of Offshore Wind at The Crown Estate, stated that the Celtic Sea offers a significant opportunity to accelerate offshore wind development, unlocking new sources of clean energy through floating offshore wind while driving economic growth and delivering long-term benefits for Wales. She noted that projects like Llyr are helping to advance the technology, skills, and supply chain needed for next-generation offshore wind, and that The Crown Estate has supported this milestone through the granting of an Agreement for Lease.

Scott Harper, Managing Director of Cierco Energy, added that such demonstration projects are a critical step in testing world-leading offshore substructures, mooring systems, and dynamic cables before scaling up to commercial deployment.
