Saudi ACCIONA Completes 2,000-Sqm Lounge at King Khalid International Airport

en.Wedoany.com Reported - ACCIONA Cultura has completed the Hafawa Lounge project for Riyadh Air at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. Covering a built area of 2,000 square meters and accommodating up to 370 seats, the lounge—according to the project developer—combines advanced technology, refined materials, and cultural elegance, setting a new benchmark in aviation hospitality and creating a uniquely comfortable environment.

ACCIONA Cultura stated that the launch of the lounge marks a significant milestone in the start-up process of Riyadh Air, the new national carrier backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), and reflects the Kingdom's commitment to redefining the global travel experience, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The lounge was designed by Yabu Pushelberg studio, with ACCIONA Cultura responsible for its delivery, covering technical design, project management, and the execution of interior architecture and technical engineering. In a statement, ACCIONA Cultura noted that the project was completed on the accelerated schedule required by the client, with a high level of coordination achieved among the design, engineering, and construction teams.

Additionally, in line with ACCIONA's commitment to sustainable and responsible design, the lounge has been designed with the goal of achieving LEED Gold certification, with a focus on environmental performance, energy efficiency, and guest comfort. The project developer stated that the delivery of this project demonstrates ACCIONA Cultura's execution capability in building complex experiential environments, which require the integration of design intent, technical integration, and operational needs under demanding project schedules and dynamic operating conditions.
