Australia's Right Resources Achieves 81.6% Tungsten Recovery Rate at New South Wales Project

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Right Resources (ASX:RRE) has completed preliminary heavy liquid separation (HLS) testing on a composite sample from the Blue Tungsten Prospect in New South Wales, achieving an indicative tungsten recovery rate of 81.6% at a crush size of less than 1mm, with the sink product grading 66.5% tungsten trioxide (WO₃) under laboratory conditions. The 32kg sample was collected from surface and near-surface outcrops at a single location, and the company cautioned that the sample is not representative of the grade or metallurgical variability of the entire prospect area.

The testing was conducted by Nagrom Laboratories, evaluating four feed preparation options: material crushed to less than 6.3mm, 3.35mm, and 1mm, as well as material ground to 80% passing 0.18mm. Across the three crushed feeds, HLS product grades ranged between 66.5% and 66.9% WO₃, with indicative recovery rates increasing from 71.2% at less than 6.3mm to 81.6% at less than 1mm.

The finer grinding test returned a lower indicative recovery rate of 57%, with the HLS product grading 61% WO₃; approximately 26.3% of the tungsten reported to the fine fraction prior to separation. Right Resources stated that this result suggests fine grinding may reduce recovery in a coarse-particle gravity circuit, although flotation and other methods for recovering fine tungsten remain to be tested.

Managing Director Graham Howard said these results support further evaluation of a "gravity-first" processing route using conventional equipment. He also noted that with flotation, magnetic characterization, and gravity separation verification upcoming, he looks forward to the current metallurgical program continuing to deepen the understanding of the project.

The company noted that HLS is a laboratory assessment and does not represent recoveries achievable using conventional gravity separation equipment; the products produced have not yet been recognized as saleable concentrate and require further cleaning and market assessment. Mineralogical analysis showed the sample contains approximately 95% quartz, with scheelite accounting for approximately 1% as the primary tungsten-bearing mineral phase.

Right Resources plans to conduct flotation and magnetic characterization work, followed by larger-scale gravity separation testing on more representative samples. A comprehensive metallurgical report is expected to be released in the second half of 2026, while preparations continue for the 3,000-meter drilling program at the Blue project scheduled for the third and fourth quarters.
