en.Wedoany.com Reported - VPK Packaging UK & Ireland has launched a corrugated all-in-one stackable packaging solution designed to help customers reduce complexity across supply chains, retail, and packaging operations. Named StackIT, the product replaces traditional two-piece formats consisting of a base tray and lid.

StackIT features an integrated locking mechanism that helps keep products stable during transport, handling, and display, while offering retailers a practical format suitable for stackable fixed displays. The solution aims to reduce unnecessary components and optimize material usage. According to the company, based on current specifications, transitioning from a two-piece format to an all-in-one solution reduces required packaging volume and lowers packaging weight.
VPK Packaging stated that the solution's first commercial debut supported a major UK grocery retailer's own-brand chilled range, validating its suitability for high-volume retail supply chains, while remaining easy to use for packers, logistics teams, and store operations staff.
StackIT is designed to support a wide range of product types, including stand-up pouches, cans, bottles, tubs, tubes, and boxed products. Its modular design allows for product-specific adjustments, with options including crash lock, tape, envelope, and kidney lock formats. The company added that the packaging can be configured based on whether products are soft or rigid: soft products can use a push-down activation method, while rigid products use a pull-up activation method, simplifying assembly and usage while maintaining product stability.
Simon Saunders, Design, Innovation & Technology Director at VPK Packaging UK & Ireland, stated that customers are under pressure to make packaging work harder—protecting products, flowing efficiently, supporting automation, looking good in stores, reducing waste, and helping teams work more effectively. He believes StackIT is a simple idea with significant practical value.
In related industry developments, in April this year, Mondi reduced logistics and production costs by 10% for Turkish technology company Argesim Teknoloji by developing a custom corrugated packaging solution for its sensor-type products. Mondi stated that by optimizing box dimensions, strength, and ergonomic design, it eliminated transport-related production damage and reduced operational risks across the supply chain.
Last month, Boxmaker.Pro launched the SSG1600 compact side-seam gluing machine, suitable for short-run corrugated box production, manual gluing operations, and sample making, with typical applications including short-run straight-line side-seam work, samples, rework, special orders, and overflow orders.
