en.Wedoany.com Reported - Klaipėda Container Terminal has announced the launch of the berth operations planning platform Portchain Quay, marking another step forward in the terminal's digitalization of operations following the deployment of Portchain Connect, the shipping line connectivity platform, in early 2026.

The platform replaces the previous fragmented manual planning processes with a centralized system, covering berth allocation, quay crane scheduling, and operations crew rostering, while also featuring real-time vessel position tracking and planning scenario simulation capabilities. The planning team can adjust plans in a unified real-time environment, respond more quickly to operational changes, and arrange operations with greater precision.

Internal departments such as engineering and operations can view berth plans in real time, reducing cross-departmental information discrepancies; shipping lines and other customers can access continuously updated berth configurations to stay informed of the latest operational schedules, thereby reducing email exchanges and repetitive phone confirmations.

Vaidotas Šileika, CEO of Klaipėda Container Terminal, stated that this implementation is part of the terminal's ongoing investment in solutions to enhance operational efficiency and resource management; the platform helps support faster, more informed decision-making, optimize berth utilization, and provide customers with more transparent and reliable services.

Thor Thorup, Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of Portchain, expressed recognition of the expanded cooperation with Klaipėda Container Terminal. He noted that Portchain Connect has already strengthened data connectivity between the terminal and shipping lines, and the terminal is now advancing the digitalization of daily berth operations planning.
