Indian ICF Awards Rs. 98.11 Crore KAVACH 4.0 Contracts to Two Companies, Completion by 2028

Both contracts involve the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of KAVACH version 4.0 equipment, scheduled for completion on or before March 31, 2028.

This order, issued by Chennai Integral Coach Factory, covers multiple tasks including the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of onboard KAVACH equipment. Among these, the contract awarded to Kernex Microsystems is specifically for EMU/MEMU applications (i.e., Electric Multiple Units/Diesel Electric Multiple Units).

The contract awarded to HBL is valued at Rs. 31.49 crore. The scope of the contract includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of onboard KAVACH locomotive equipment (version 4.0), to be completed on or before March 31, 2028.

The order awarded to Kernex Microsystems is valued at Rs. 66.62 crore (inclusive of GST). The contract covers the goods, supply, installation, interfacing with electrical systems, testing, and commissioning of onboard KAVACH equipment for EMU/MEMU, with the equipment to be supplied in accordance with RDSO specification No. RDSO/SPN/196/2020 (version 4.0 or the latest version). The scope of this contract also includes warranty and a Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC), with the same completion deadline of on or before March 31, 2028.

The two contracts together are valued at approximately Rs. 98.11 crore. HBL will undertake the supply and commissioning of onboard KAVACH locomotive equipment version 4.0, while Kernex Microsystems is responsible for the KAVACH equipment contract for EMU/MEMU applications, with both projects scheduled for completion by March 31, 2028.
